If you are looking for authentic wooden booths, more twinkly lights than the eye can see and and the smell of warm punch aromatically lingering in the cooling winter air, then Vienna is the place for you!
Christmas in Vienna is a captivating experience filled with the charm of traditional markets and festive decorations. The city's historic architecture serves as a stunning backdrop for the various Christmas markets that come alive during the holiday season. Visitors can enjoy a variety of seasonal treats, handmade crafts, and unique gifts while strolling through the enchanting streets. In 2024, the Christmas markets in Vienna opened this year (2024) from mid-November and will continue until the end of December, with many markets operating until just after New Year’s Day.

If you are short on time, - many of these famous places can be see from a hop on hop off bus tour ! (Many available from the city centre on the hour!)

Additionally, visit the Ringstrasse, a grand boulevard lined with impressive buildings, including the Parliament, the City Hall, and the Vienna University. Each of these structures is an architectural marvel worth admiring.
To unwind, take a leisurely stroll through the Prater Park, home to the famous Giant Ferris Wheel, providing another opportunity for stunning views of the city & why not cross the bridge and head towards Vienna’s tallest building, the Danube tower (22o metes) where you can enjoy a cocktail or a coffee while admiring the 260 degree view of Viennas skyline! Well worth an afternoon visit!
