We may not see Lanzarote for a while but here are some top tips for next Summer!!
Don't Quit Your Day Dream.
So as we all pass the time during lock-down, our sun holidays are never far from our minds!! Although we may not get away this Summer, we can always plan for next year. You can never be too prepared - my card details are nearly ready to go!!
So here are some personal tips from a trip to Lanzo I took last year. I am not one for sun holidays, I usually run away to more adventurous lands but I must say, there is a perfect mix of chill and attractions to keep even the adventurous type entertained on this beautiful volcanic island. Read on for more…!!
Lanzarote has a large remote wild part of the island that is largely unexplored. This fabulous volcanic Canary Island is full of palm-lined towns, white sandy beaches and water sports in abundance. Whether you fancy a beach front hotel with rolling views or an inland town based escape, there is something perfect just for you.
My first top top for this island would be to rent a car anf go explore. It is useful for traelling to the northern part of the island and exploring the tourist attractions that are a little bit off the beaten track such as the volcanic sites and caves. Most hotel chains will supply you ith rental details and it really is an easy process and well worth i!!

My Top Attractions
Timanfaya National Park
These dormant volcanic sites really are worth a morning visit. It is an easy drive from most resorts on the island and well signposted. The volcanoes have not erupted since 1824 but the feel of the entire area is something else. The colour of the landscape alone will draw in even the less enthusiastic travel photographer. It is such a quiet area even with the bus load of tourists. Once you check in at the visitor centre you venture out onto the volcanic lands on a tourist bus with a guide. well worth it!
Jameos del Agua caves
Easil accessible by car on the same day as you visit Timfanaya are the Jameos del Agua caves. “Lanzarote’s most famous artist, César Manrique, gave the island a funkadelic aesthetic, of which this sexy underground location is the crowning glory. A cave system with openings to the sky that houses a restaurant, curvy pool, and auditorium, with bar seats built into the rocks, and ferns cascading from the walls.” It is a quiet afternoon walk and the perfect spot for a coffee and a ponder!
Natural swimming pools
These outdoor sea swimming pools can be found around Lanzarote’s southern and eastern coasts, most natural formations in the rocks, with only steps and ladders added. Perfect for a sunset dip and those IG golden hour moments!
Arrieta
A small quaint village in the northeast of the island. In Arrieta you will discover the untouched white sand beach of Playa de La Garita and a harbour, perfect for an afternoon drink or an early dinner.
Activities
I would definitely recommend “Euro Divers” if you are interested i scuba diving. They are such a helpful family run business who are very knowledgeable. I have gone diving in many different locations around the world, and surprising this was one of my favourites!! The underwater views are just perfect.
